Lavay Smith is beautiful. A gifted singer and all around classy lady! When she sings to you with that sexy voice, she makes your heart stop. Chris Siebert is the most awesome music arranger of our time. This band combines Vocal, Piano, Rhythm, a variety of brass, bass and guitar. And it's FUN music, in the spirit of Bessie Smith, Ida Cox, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Ma Rainey, etc. No other "retro" singer in the world today is as authenticly 1940's sounding as Lavay, as a matter a fact her sound goes back to the 20's with Bessie Smith, all the way to the 50's Big Maybelle. Lavay has her own style not sounding like any one singer from the past. But rather sounding like a singer from the past, without copying anyone. Her band is tight and gives exellent solos jazzwise, without compromising the dancability of these tunes. This record is the perfect proof that something good came of the late 90's Swing revival! One last thing: This may be the first CD you ever wear out from over use! Thank you Skillet Lickers!

Here is the third the Stones’ UK LP, released on 24 September, 1965. It was initially issued in July 1965 in America, and it was a mish-mash of studio recordings over a six month period. With the benefit of new songs being recorded that September plus a different album cover, the British version of Out of Our Heads dropped the live track (I’m Alright) and recent hit singles (singles were rarely featured on albums in the UK in those times), and added exclusive songs that would surface later in 1965 in the US on December's Children (And Everybody's) in addition to songs that hadn't been released in the UK thus far. Issued later that September, Out of Our Heads reached #2 in the UK charts behind The Beatles' Help!. It would also be The Rolling Stones' last UK album to predominantly feature R&B covers, with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards becoming far more prolific writers before 1965 was out. Again singles and the recorded-live EP Got Live if You Want It are included.

Some of the groups most famous songs include "Be My Baby," "Baby, I Love You," "(The Best Part Of) Breakin' Up", and "(Walking) In the Rain." In 1955, the Argentine universities receive hundreds of students who come from the whole Latin America. A group of newcomers has many desires of amusingthemselves but not too much desire of studying medicine. They start to meet for playing music very often until one day they get a gig: the dance restaurant Tom and Jerry, in Vicente Lopez, for invitation of the businessman Francisco Trimboli. Equipped with flowery given shirts, the first members of the group were Rafael Aedo, Enrique Salazar and Hernán Rojas (from Colombia), Carlos Cabrera and Pedro Rojas (from Peru), Sergio Solar (from Chile) and Mario Castellón (from Costa Rica). The boys do a mixtureof the rhythms from their respective countries: cumbia, merengue, guaracha. They're considered even today as the most important cumbia group in Latinoamérica.

Before he jumped, jived, and wailed to the top of the pop charts, and long before radio, video, or press had noticed what was going on, a Brian Setzer Orchestra performance was captured live for the first time at the Montreal Jazz Festival on June 30, 1995. This show represented a turning point in the band's evolution from '40s style big band swing to the powerful balls-to-the-wall rock 'n' roll outfit that sold millions, earned 3 Grammys, and is still going strong. Experience that One Rockin' Night the Orchestra charted its new musical course and never looked back.

Spinettalandia y Sus Amigos (Spinettaland & His Friends) it's Luis Alberto Spinetta's first solo album, released in 1971 after leaving Almendra and before forming Pescado Rabioso, his second group. An LP 100% "hippie", as for the recording regarding the sound and general conception, and simultaneously Luis' break up with RCA record company. After his group Almendra disbanded, - and after his short experience living in France as a hippy- Spinetta passed through this transition period, something which he denotes on this album assuming the dualities and risks that were clearly implied. The record features hard rock numbers, as "Castillo de Piedra" composed by Pappo and announcing what Pescado Rabioso will be, but at the same time intimate and surprising compositions as " La Búsqueda de la Estrella." Made with the collaboration of several friends actually present at the studio, this is a transitory but fundamental recording for the bases of the skills and style Spinetta would show as an artist in the future. The LP when it was first released was titled Almendra, something which made the artist take the record company to court. Then in 1978, a reissue of the LP was titled La Búsqueda de la Estrella. Finally in 1995 under the Sony Music label, its first issue on CD, the disc was titled as Spinetta had originally wanted back in 1971: Spinettalandia y Sus Amigos, including also the original cover also desigend by Spinetta.

The Rolling Stones No. 2 is the second UK album by The Rolling Stones released in January 15, 1965, following the massive success of 1964's debut The Rolling Stones. Not surprisingly, The Rolling Stones No. 2 followed its predecessor's tendency to largely feature R&B covers. However, it does contain three compositions from the still-developing Jagger/Richards (Richard by then) songwriting team. Using the cover shot for 12 X 5, the second US released album in October 1964, The Rolling Stones No. 2's tracklisting would largely be emulated on the upcoming US release of The Rolling Stones, Now!. While Eric Easton was co-credited as producer alongside Andrew Loog Oldham on The Rolling Stones' debut album, Oldham takes full production duties for The Rolling Stones No. 2, which was recorded sporadically in the UK and US during 1964. A huge hit in the United Kingdom upon release, The Rolling Stones No. 2 spent 10 weeks at #1 in early 1965, becoming one of the year's biggest sellers in the United Kingdom. Again is accompanied by contemporary singles plus the wonderful EP Five by Five.

A Day at the Races is the fifth album by British rock group Queen, released in December 1976. A Day at the Races was the Queen's first completely self-produced album, and the first not to feature producer Roy Thomas Baker. Recorded at Sarm East, The Manor and Wessex Studios in England, A Day at the Races was engineered by Mike Stone. The title of the album followed suit with its predecessor A Night at the Opera in taking its name from a film by the Marx Brothers. A Day at the Races peaked at number one in the UK, Japan and the Netherlands. It reached number five on the US Billboard 200 and was Queen's fifth album to ship gold (500,000 units shipped) in the US. It subsequently reached platinum status (one million shipped) in the US.

Johnny Cash (February 26, 1932–September 12, 2003), born J. R. Cash, was an American singer-songwriter and one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.[2] Primarily a country music artist, his songs and sound spanned many other genres including rockabilly and rock and roll (especially early in his career), as well as blues, folk, and gospel. Cash was known for his deep, distinctive bass-baritone voice, the "chicka-boom" freight train sound of his Tennessee Three backing band, his demeanor, and his dark clothing, which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black". He traditionally started his concerts with the introduction "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash". Much of Cash's music, especially that of his later career, echoed themes of sorrow, moral tribulation and redemption. His signature songs include "I Walk the Line", "Folsom Prison Blues", "Ring of Fire", "Get Rhythm" and "Man in Black". He also recorded humorous songs, such as "One Piece at a Time" and "A Boy Named Sue", a duet with June Carter called "Jackson", as well as railroad songs such as "Hey Porter" and "Rock Island Line."
