U2 are a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. The group consists of Bono (vocals and rhythm guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion). The band formed at secondary school in 1976 when the members were teenagers with limited musical proficiency. Within four years, they signed to Island Records and released their debut album. By the mid-1980s, they had become a top international act. They were more successful as a live act than they were at selling records, until their 1987 album The Joshua Tree, which, according to Rolling Stone, elevated the band's stature "from heroes to superstars". Their 1991 album Achtung Baby! and the accompanying "Zoo TV Tour" were a musical and thematic reinvention for the band. Reacting to their own sense of musical stagnation and a late-1980s critical backlash, U2 incorporated dance music and alternative rock into their sound and performances, replacing their earnest image with a more ironic tone. Similar experimentation continued for the remainder of the 1990s. Since 2000, U2 have pursued a more conventional sound, while maintaining influences from their previous musical explorations. U2 have released 12 studio albums and are among the most critically and commercially successful groups in popular music. They have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band, and they have sold more than 145 million records. In 2005, the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Rolling Stone magazine listed U2 at #22 in its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. Throughout their career, as a band and as individuals, they have campaigned for human rights and philanthropic causes, including Amnesty International, the ONE Campaign, Product Red, and Bono's DATA campaign.

The Beach Boys are an American rock band, formed in 1961, who gained popularity for their close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a Southern California youth culture of cars, surfing, and romance. Brian Wilson's growing creative ambitions later transformed them into a more artistically innovative group that earned critical praise and influenced many later musicians. The group was initially composed of singer-musician-composer Brian Wilson, his brothers, Carl and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. This core quintet was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 1988. The Beach Boys have often been called "America's Band", and Allmusic.com has stated that "the band's unerring ability... made them America's first, best rock band." The group has had thirty-six U.S. Top 40 hits (the most of any U.S. rock band) and fifty-six Hot 100 hits, including four number one singles. Rolling Stone magazine listed The Beach Boys as number 12 in the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. According to Billboard, in terms of singles and album sales, The Beach Boys are the No. 1-selling American band of all time.

22 classic Christmas songs performed in a Beatles style by the Fab Four! This 2013 re-release of the Fab Four's 2 hit Christmas CDs combines all 22 tracks onto one single album.
This Christmas album has such a big sound that it makes other Christmas albums pale in comparison. Influenced by Johnny Mercer, Les Brown, Louis Prima, Bobby Darin and Duane Eddy, Brian Setzer is a retro genius. Standout numbers include a swinging "Nutcracker Suite", "Cactus Christmas" (think Cow-Cow Boogie), and an unexpectedly touching "O Holy Night". This album epitomizes Christmas cool. Highly, highly recommended for a snazzy, jazzy retro Christmas! Happy Christmas everybody!!!!

Luz Casal (born November 11, 1958 at Boimorto, is a Spanish pop singer. She grew up in neighbouring Asturias, took singing, piano and ballet classes, and moved to Madrid to pursue a career as a musician. She became famous in the early 1980s, and remained an important figure in Spanish pop music all through said decade and beyond, with her sound gradually maturing towards soft adult pop. She recorded a cover version of Étienne Daho's French language song "Duel au Soleil" in Spanish called "Un nuevo día brillará", which became a hit song. In 1992 she enjoyed great success with her appearance in the soundtrack of Pedro Almodóvar's acclaimed film Tacones Lejanos singing Agustín Lara's theme "Piensa en mí". In January 2007, Luz Casal was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent an operation at the Ruber Clinic in Madrid.[citation needed], seven months later, she revealed to the Spanish media that she had overcome her disease. Her first name, Luz, means “light” in Spanish.

Queen recorded a total of 25 different tracks at 2 different BBC studios in 1973, 1974 and 1977. 'Keep Yourself Alive', 'Liar', 'Modern Times Rock And Roll', and 'Son And Daughter' were the only numbers recorded twice in two different sessions. This is a very nice bootleg featuring all the songs recorded by Queen at the BBC which weren’t included on the oficially released “Queen at the Beeb” album. All these Beeb versions sound a bit different to the oficial studio versions. Recommended.

Britain's answer to Elvis Presley, Richard (born Harry Webb) dominated the pre-Beatles British pop scene in the late '50s and early '60s. An accomplished singer with a genuine feel for the music, Richard's artistic legacy is nonetheless meager, as he was quickly steered toward a middle-of-the-road pop direction. Several of his late-'50s recordings were genuinely exciting Presley-esque rockers, especially his first hit, "Move It" (1958) and gave British teenagers their first taste of genuine homegrown rock & roll talent. Backed by the Shadows, clean-cut instrumental virtuosos who became legends of their own, Richard embarked on a truly awesome string of hit singles in Britain, scoring no less than 43 Top 20 hits between 1958 and 1969. One of these, although it was by no means one of the more successful, was an actual Mick Jagger/Keith Richards composition (the ballad "Blue Turns to Grey"). In his homeland, Richard's popularity was diminished only slightly by the rise of the Beatles, but in his prime, he had a much rougher time in the U.S., hitting the Top 40 only three times (with "Living Doll" in 1959, "It's All in the Game" in 1963, and "Devil Woman" in 1976). Richard belatedly cracked the U.S. Top Ten in 1976 with "Devil Woman," and racked up a few other hits ("We Don't Talk Anymore," "Dreaming," "A Little in Love") in a mainstream pop/rock style. He remains an institution in Britain, where he is one of the nation's most popular all-around entertainers of all time. Here's his first LP recorde live in front of an audience at Abbey Road studios.

First released on 15 April 1966, Aftermath was the fourth UK and sixth US studio album by The Rolling Stones. The album proved to be a major artistic breakthrough for The Rolling Stones, being the first full-length release by the band to consist exclusively of Mick Jagger/Keith Richards compositions. Aftermath was also the first Rolling Stones album to be recorded entirely in the United States, at the legendary RCA Studios in Hollywood, California at 6363 Sunset Boulevard, and the first album the band released in stereo. The original UK version of Aftermath was issued in April 1966 as a fourteen-track LP, and this is generally considered to be the definitive version. Issued between the non-LP single releases of "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Paint It Black", Aftermath was a major hit in the UK, spending eight weeks at #1 on the UK album chart. The US version, released in June, featured different cover art and an alternate (and shorter) running order that eliminated "Out of Time", "Take It Or Leave It", "What To Do", and "Mother's Little Helper". All four tracks were later issued in the US on other compilations, and "Mother's Little Helper" was also issued as a single, in 1966, peaking at #8 on the Billboard charts. In their place, the album substituted their current # 1 hit "Paint It Black". Although it compromised producer Andrew Loog Oldham's and The Rolling Stones' intentions for the album, the revamped Aftermath still reached #2 in the US, eventually going platinum. Here’s the original (and currently out of print) UK version, plus singles. Enjoy.

Vox Dei (Latin: God's Voice) is an Argentine rock band. Its most prolific years were the 1970s, having recorded 10 albums. The band's original members were Juan Carlos Godoy (guitar and vocals), Ricardo Soulé (guitar and vocals), Rubén Basoalto (drums) and Willy Quiroga (bass and vocals). In 1968 they recorded a version of Percy Sledge's "When a man loves a woman", and the record company Mandioca organized an audition for them in the Payró theatre. The members of Manal and Almendra were also present, and a few hours later they played together. In 1970 they recorded for Mandioca their first album Caliente.
As a teenager, Madeleine Peyroux moved with her mother from New York to Paris and fell in love with music. She joined a street-performing band and sang in bars, before releasing a debut album at the age of 22, Dreamland (1996). It was hugely successful but Peyroux was not one for seeking the spotlight: after a brief spell touring jazz festivals, she sought to maintain a private life in France, continuing to busk and perform in small bars and cafés. In 2003 she recorded a seven-song EP, Got You On My Mind, with boyfriend and multi-instrumentalist William Galison, which he released as a full album the following year with four additional tracks. Careless Love (2004), Peyroux's second solo studio album, sold over a million copies worldwide.

The Who first began in 1963. In their early days the band was known as The Detours. Like many of their British peers, the group was heavily influenced by American blues and country music, initially playing mostly rhythm and blues. The Detours became The Who in late 1964 and, also with the arrival of Keith Moon that year, their line-up was complete. However, for a short period during earl-mid 1964, and under the management of Peter Meaden, they changed their name to The High Numbers. This is a bootleg CD, with studio and live material from that period. Tracks 1-5 are their first studio efforts including their first single as The High Numbers, they released "Zoot Suit/I'm The Face", a record designed to appeal to their mostly Mod fans. When it failed to chart, the band fired Meaden and quickly reverted to The Who. They had also changed from The High Numbers to The Who because when they would have concerts, old ladies would come thinking that they could play bingo (and it's true! lol). Tracks 6-16 are live recorded at the Railway Hotel with decent sound considering the era. The tracks don't flow smoothly and some cut in and out abruptly. Some sound like there is an audience while others don't. Tracks 17-23 are mono studio tracks. These are all instrumental, actually recorded in Abbey Road Studios during that summer.
